Class I to VIII
Any language could be Second language however Tamil must be made as compulsory additional language.
Class IX
Any language could be posted as
II language.
Additional subject Tamil must be taught.
State government will frame the syllabus. This additional subject will be taken care by state government.
State government has framed a committee along with CBSE Sahodaya members.
Tamil text book will be the same for class IX ( both II and III Language)
Committee will reduce the syllabus with the same Tamil book. Lot of MCQ's will be there.
Weekly 3 periods required for teaching Tamil in Class 9.
Syllabus has been made ready by the Committee. It's gone for approval will be released shortly.
Mark allotment:
80+20( 20 internal assessment+ 40 MCQ +40 subjective)
This exam will be conducted before class X board CBSE exam.
They will be given a certificate by State government for this additional language in Class X.
Periodical test and multiple assessment must be conducted at school level.
We need to register in EMIS portal and they will be given a roll number for board exam.(Basic Tamil)
Have additional language Tamil / Basic Tamil in report card.
Tamil Exams of Class IX wil be corrected and recorded by respective schools.
Class X yet to decide.
Class I to VIII Tamil syllabus will be released probably next year.
Children seeking admission due to transfer also should opt additional language Tamil which is mandatory.
Teach such students the basics ie alphabet and slowly make them learn the subject.
Communicate the same to parents.
Should ensure qualified Tamil teachers are recruited.
Tamil text book must be used as prescribed by Tamil nadu Government.
